Sestec's patented technology leverages the natural adhesive properties of proteins, which were once widely used in wood glues before synthetic adhesives emerged in the 1950s.
Interest in natural binders resurfaced with the wood industry’s focus on sustainability and reducing carbon footprints.

Today, natural adhesives must match the performance of synthetic systems without altering production equipment. Sestec’s high-performance protein-based adhesives meet these demands, offering adaptable solutions for fiberboard and composite applications.

Extensive trials show that Sestec’s adhesives meet or exceed industry standards, even in challenging applications. They are ideal for wood-based products (PB, MDF, OSB, plywood, etc.) and alternative materials like straw, hemp, cotton, and more.

These adhesives are 100% natural, processed at room temperature, and available in aqueous dispersions up to 75% concentration. They have long shelf lives (up to a year) and do not require crosslinkers or hardeners. Reacting spontaneously at around 100°C, these adhesives match the press speeds of standard UF and mUF systems.
